Join us as our students test for their 1st Dan Black Belt in the spring of 2021. The test will began at 1pm (time and date subject to change), but our doors will open at 12:30pm.
This event is open to the community, streaming live and in-person, though at this time, we do ask that you contact us ahead of time to let us know how many of you will be attending in person. We will be streaming this live on our Facebook Page.
Depending on the Massachusetts Governor and the status of COVID-19, we may change our position on allowing the community in to witness this test in-person at any time.
Virtual Winter Camp (Ages 7-10)
Join us Dec, 21st through Jan, 1st for our Virtual Winter Camp for children ages 7-10.
Children will learn the basics of Martial Arts and self defense through ZOOM classes led by Master Childs-Lee. Students will also have access to trivia, activities and puzzles to do with family and friends through Google classroom.
This 2 week camp aims to keep kids active during winter break, while building self esteem, self confidence and teaching them how to set and achieve goals. This also gives them an opportunity to connect with other kids interested in Martial Arts and make more friends.

Join us Saturday, December 19th as our student tests for his 1st Dan Black Belt Test. Time and Date are subject to change. We plan to have this event streamed live on our Facebook Page, pending permission from the family. We would love for the community to join us as we celebrate our Student’s achievement.

At this time, we will only be streaming the test live on our Facebook Page (pending permission). Only a limited amount of family members of the student testing will be allowed to watch in-person. Masks are still required.
November Monthly Test

For students of MAIB, tonight is the night they test for their next belt. After many hours of hard work and practice, these students will demonstrate their knowledge and skill in front of MAIB’s Masters and Instructors.
To MAIB Students:
Check with the Masters and/or Instructors to see who if you are eligible to test this month. If you are, please pick up a test application at the school or email us for the online application. Test fees are $50, and must be paid in advance to MAIB (cash, credit, or PayPal).
Self-Defense Workshops
Self-Defense Workshops
supporting Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Join MAIB every Saturday in the month of October in support of Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Open to all ages and genders, the workshops will be hosted simultaneously online and in-person.
Workshops are 1:15pm to 2:45pm, followed by a Q&A session. Social Distancing restrictions will be followed. Pre-registration is required. Click HERE to pre-register. We are asking a minimum donation of $10 per session & person.
Proceeds will be donated to a local organization(s) working towards the healing of breast cancer patients, survivors and their families.

Online: Community Senior Fitness Class
For those 60 years old or older, this community class is a great way to strengthen key muscle groups that support independent living, all while having fun! You will develop your sense of balance, strength and overall confidence. For the time being, this is a online class, that meets on the following days:
Monday 10am
Tuesday 1pm (starting Aug 18th, 2020)
Wednesday 10am
Thursday 1pm (starting Aug 20th, 2020)

Synergies of the Martial Arts Seminar
Our Annual Seminar brings together different styles of Martial Arts from all over the world to your front doorstep. If you've ever been interested in Martial Arts, this is a chance to explore several different styles of Martial Arts - no experience needed!
Attendees will get a chance to talk to a martial artists of various styles and ranks in between trying the martial arts training for themselves.

The registration form has been finalized and the itinerary has been settled. This year’s seminar will feature South County schools of the Martial Arts, giving locals and visitors alike an introduction into what is available in Berkshire County. This year, we are featuring the following:
Bagua and Xing-yi style, taught by Sifu JP Magenis of Berkshire Internal Arts
Boxing, taught by Genève Brossard of Berkshire Boxing Club
Taekwondo Competition Poomsae, taught by Master Erica Linthorst

Taekwondo Online with Master Childs
This class is for ORANGE BELTS and HIGHER BELTS only.
By separating the belt ranks, we aim to deliver a more focused online class for the students. We hope to be able to spend more time with the lower level students, making sure they understand the techniques and curriculum.
Students may attend as many online classes as they want, as we temporarily waving the 2 classes per week minimum for all enrollment programs.
Beginners' Taekwondo Online with Master Childs
This online class is for WHITE BELTS and YELLOW BELTS only.
By separating the belt ranks, we aim to deliver a more focused online class for the students. We hope to be able to spend more time with the lower level students, making sure they understand the techniques and curriculum.
Students may attend as many online classes as they want, as we temporarily waving the 2 classes per week minimum for all enrollment programs.

This Monthly Test is doubling as an Open House!
MAIB students and parents, tell your friends and family about our Open House and cheer on our MAIB students as they demonstrate their skills to achieve their next rank. Information about Taekwondo, MAIB and what guests will be watching will be available.
If a MAIB student is eligible to test or feels ready to test, make sure to speak to Grandmaster Brown, Master Childs, Master Vought, Instructor Britell or Instructor Pichard for more details and to receive the required test application.
Special Saturday Training
Special Training Saturdays are open to all levels of Black Belts. This class provides a chance for students to explore more obscure material, or be introduced to completely new curriculum. It also provides higher ranking students to study their requirements.
Instructors Class Saturday Special
Open only to Black Belts who are Training to be Instructors of MAIB. Material covered in this class covers how to teach the curriculum more effectively and efficiently to a wide range of students as well as deeper study of Black Belt material and curriculum.

Official Re-Opening of Martial Arts of the Berkshires
Join us Saturday, September 28th at Noon to 4pm to celebrate the official re-opening of MAIB at our new location, 54 State Rd Great Barrington MA 01230. Friends, family, co-workers, classmates and strangers are welcome to attend.

This Martial Arts Boot Camp is open to the community, so no need for martial arts experience, though seasoned martial artists are more than welcome too.
